Last week, we left
24 with Jack Bauer fruitlessly whacking a golf club into the side of a panic room. He and Tony Almeida are in deep cover, working for a mysterious Englishman named Emerson, and attempting to kidnap the Prime Minister of Sangala. It was great to see Tony and Jack back together again, though it's unclear how long the partnership is going to last. I have a funny feeling about just where Tony's loyalties lie. But, we shall see. Below you will find the recap for tonight's episode of
24. Please enjoy. Maybe Jack will actually kill someone tonight. It's been far too long, and we need to get our
24 Jack Bauer Kill Count started.
The FBI is sending a force to go get Jack and Tony. The FBI has orders not to shoot at Tony – he's their only lead for finding Dubaku. Emerson beats up Mutobo's security guard – but he stays strong. The only way to open the panic room is from the inside. Tanner's lawyers have filed a complaint against the FBI. Walker admits to torturing Tanner. Basically, this is all a rationale for torture. Walker is ordered back to FBI headquarters, but she shuns the orders.
Mutobo tries to call out of the panic room, but to no avail. Mutobo thinks that Dubaku's people want the names of his allies inside Sangala. Emerson talks to Mutobo from outside the panic room. Emerson gives him one minute to come out, otherwise he will kill his security guard. The guard makes it clear that he is prepared to die. Just as he's about to shoot, the guard gets a call from the FBI. Emerson picks up the phone, doesn't answer. Jack has found a ventilation system – he thinks they can gas him out. Jack can make the gas. Why? Because he watched a lot of Mr. Wizard growing up. And because he's Jack Goddamn Bauer.
Jack releases his homemade gasoline into the ventilation system. It starts bubbling. Emerson rings Mutobo, tells him what's up. Mutobo has some decidin' to do. He is willing to sacrifice himself, but is he willing to let his wife die?
Janis is approached by Tanner's lawyers at the headquarters. Moss tells her about Walker going AWOL. Walker arrives first, alone, at Mutobo's estate. Mutobo is still in there, now struggling with his wife. It looks like they are about to die. But, his wife decides to open the door. Jack and Emerson take the two of them and head out. Walker approaches and watches as Mutobo and wife are herded into the back of a van. As she talks to Moss on the phone, the other team member puts a gun on her. She's been found. Emerson wants to kill her, but Jack convince him otherwise – they need to find out what Tanner told her. The team drives off, unscathed. Emerson talks to a man at Dubaku's HQ – Emerson says he should talk to their man at the FBI to see how much Tanner spilled.
