, best known to 24
fans as Audrey Raines, Jack Bauer's former love interest and daughter of the Secretary of Defense, gave birth to her second child on October 9. The child, named Leo Kipling Boyer, is the second for Raver, who also has a 5 year-old boy named Luke West. Raver's husband and Leo's father is Manu Boyer, a French filmmaker. The family is currently living in New York City where Raver is shooting the upcoming NBC show Lipstick Jungle
, in which Raver plays a fashion editor.
Manu Boyer, Raver's husband, also has an interesting connection to 24
. Two years ago, Boyer directed a documentary entitled I Trust You to Kill Me
. It followed a band called Rocco DeLuca and the Burden
through a European tour they were on. But, the film wasn't your typical music documentary. Kiefer Sutherland
acted as the band's tour manager during their European visit and the film focused on Sutherland's and DeLuca's personalities, both similar and different. I haven't been able to find out if Sutherland met Boyer through Raver or vice versa, but it can't be a coincidence. Although Boyer is called a filmmaker, I Trust You to Kill Me
is his only film credit.
Kim Raver doesn't get as much credit as she should for her work as Audrey Raines. Out of anyone on 24
who hasn't died, Raines has had the worst experience of anybody. Her ex-husband died. She thought her father died. She was kidnapped numerous times. She was tortured. She though Jack Bauer was dead. Then he came back, and was quickly kidnapped by the Chinese. Her crazy artery was cut and she almost died. And, finally, she was brainwashed and tortured by the Chinese to the point where she was nearly catatonic. That's no fun at all.
