Anna Wilson-Jones is a British actress with several major television roles under her belt. The daughter of a vet father and a veterinary nurse mother and with a physician brother and sister, Anna Wilson-Jones took up medicine at Cardiff for a year and two weeks but quit on the first day they started dissecting because she said she couldn’t handle it. She was also educated at the private all girls school, Sir William Perkins’ School, in Chester Surrey. Her passion for acting arose when she began working at the National Youth Theater.
Anna Wilson-Jones began her career in the mid-1990s, taking on her first role in an episode of The Bill. She later appeared as Lady Wakeley in the series Berkeley Square, before getting a role in the drama film Vigo: A Passion for Life. She later got roles in shows such as Wonderful You, Boyz Unlimited, and on several episodes of Spaced. The actress has had major roles on a variety of UK shows during the 2000s. After appearing in Mrs. Caldicot’s Cabbage War and on an episode of Inspector Morse, she rose to fame with another performance. She was cast as Justine in Monarch of the Glen, and continued her career with 2001’s Domani. That year, she landed a guest spot in Life as We Know It, and Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased). Wilson-Jones later got roles in several episodes of As If, Jonathan Creek, The Vice and Rosemary & Thyme. In 2003, she starred in the film Silent Treatment and was on the shows Red Cap and Murder in Suburbia. Her other roles were in Gladiatress, The Brief, NY-LON, Roman Road and Midsomer Murders. She also got another big part, this time in the BBC cult show Hex. Her portrayal of the character Jo Watkins required her to act like a sensitive and caring English teacher who is preoccupied with earning her students’ respect and affection.
Following this, Anna Wilson-Jones took on a role in Waterloo Road, as well as in the Channel 4 adaptation of the novel Sugar Rush. She was later featured in the ITV parapsychology drama Afterlife, playing the character Jude Bridge alongside Andrew Lincoln. In 2007, she got a part in The Time of Your Life as Sally, and portrayed Joan Cale on an episode of Ashes to Ashes.
