Also, check out our lists from 2008:

TV’s Sexiest Men of 2008>>

The First 50

#50 Taylor Kitsch, Friday Night Lights

Tim Riggins will always be near and dear to our hearts, even when he drops out of college. Even when he flirts with the daughter of a cougar he had a one-night stand with. Even when he keeps hanging out by the high school after he graduated while everyone else has moved on. We still love this good-looking guy.

Taylor Kitsch, Friday Night Lights

#49 Tom Welling, Smallville

Clark Kent finally donned the “S” and started saving people, which helped make Tom Welling suddenly look a lot hotter. It also helped that they killed off Davis Bloom, as Sam Witwer was stealing some of the superstud’s heat.

Tom Welling, Smallville

#48 Larenz Tate, Rescue Me

The new probie got down and dirty with Tommy’s daughter, and since he looks like Larenz Tate, that’s a very good thing.

Larenz Tate, Rescue Me

#47 Chace Crawford, Gossip Girl

Even without a decent storyline for most of 2009, Chace Crawford was still absolutely adorable on Gossip Girl dull as a box of rocks watching paint dry, but still hot.

Chace Crawford, Gossip Girl

#46 Christopher Gorham, Harper’s Island

Yes, we know he turned out to be the killer, but thanks to Gorham’s pleasant boyish charm, we didn’t suspect him until it was too late…we’d already been reminded why we loved him so much back in his days on shows like Popular, Jake 2.0 and Ugly Betty.

Christopher Gorham, Harpers Island

#45 Joel McHale, Community

McHale was never particularly sexy snarking on celebrities on The Soup, but as an uber-cocky former lawyer, he’s suddenly became a much more attractive man.

#44 Jon Foster, Accidentally on Purpose

The cougar craze may be dying out, but that doesn’t make their conquests any less hot. Jon Foster was a perfect blend of all-American good looks with the slightest edginess that makes him perfect for a middle-aged woman on the prowl.

#43 Nick Zano, Cougar Town

Speaking of cougar bait, Zano had a recurring role as Jules’ first younger lover, and he was definitely hot enough to put any cougar in heat.

Nick Zano, Cougar Town

#42 Robert Buckley, One Tree Hill

Joining a show in its seventh season is never easy, but thanks to Buckley’s winning smile and boyish face, he won over the fans faster than they could say “Chad Michael Who?”

Robert Buckley, One Tree Hill

#41 Jared Padalecki, Supernatural

Last year Jared was our top pick, so why the steep fall? Well, his character on Supernatural spent most of 2009 drinking demon blood, fighting his brother, starting the Apocalypse and growing some hideous sideburns. He’s still one hot guy, but we’re hoping he turns it around for 2010.

Jared Padalecki, Supernatural

#40 Johann Urb, Eastwick

As the sexy reporter in a small town, Urb managed to get two of the three witches to fall in love with him, without the use of magic. One look and it’s not hard to figure out how he did it.

Johann Urb, Eastwick

#39 George Eads, CSI

The alpha dog of crime investigation (George Eads) is still standing tall and still looking good even while co-stars all around him abandon ship.

George Eads, CSI

#38 Jeffrey Donovan, Burn Notice

Another hot season in Miami kept Donovan looking just fine as his character saved lives and tried to find the people who burned him. We’re hoping he never fixes the problem, because watching him rebel is good TV.

Jeffrey Donovan, Burn Notice

#37 Enver Gjokaj, Dollhouse

If the Dollhouse were real, every woman in America would want the Victor doll. This hot Albanian-American steamed up every scene and made every viewer’s fantasies a little bit richer.

Enver Gjokaj, Dollhouse

#36 Chris O’Donnell, NCIS: Los Angeles

About a decade ago, O’Donnell has the hot new thing. But just like the original NCIS did for Mark Harmon, this spin-off is putting him back on the map and back in the hearts of the ladies.

Chris ODonnell, NCIS: Los Angeles

#35 Scott Wolf, V

Is it possible to look at Scott Wolf and not say “Aww” over how adorable he is? We submit that it is not, and he’s still cuter than a button.

Scott Wolf, V

#34 Wentworth Miller, Prison Break

Prison Break came to an end in 2009, leaving our TVs a little less pretty. But we still remember Wentworth’s terrific role, we appreciate that he guest starred on Law and Order: SVU, and we hope he keeps coming back to TV.

Wentworth Miller, Prison Break

#33 Zachary Quinto, Heroes

After a summer where he became a huge movie star, Quinto continued that success by essentially taking over as the de facto leading man on Heroes, playing a dual role of himself trapped inside Nathan’s body and his own consciousness trapped in Matt Parkman’s body. But whether he’s forgetful, murderous or anything in between, he always looked good.

Zachary Quinto, Heroes

#32 Ryan Kwanten, True Blood

Ryan Kwanten has the kind of raw masculine beauty that could easily make a preacher’s wife become unfaithful. And that’s just what happened on True Blood with the incredibly hot and amazingly stupid Jason Stackhouse.

Ryan Kwanten, True Blood

#31 Adam Rodriguez, CSI: Miami

Adam Rodriguez may have left CSI: Miami, but he looked better than ever doing it, and we can only hope he continues to pop up on our TV screens.

Adam Rodriguez, CSI: Miami

#30 Sebastian Stan, Kings and Gossip Girl

There’s something very alluring about Sebastian Stan. From his role as the secretly gay prince on Kings to the reformed bad boy Carter Baizen on Gossip Girl, Stan is as intriguing an actor as you can find, and his fantastic good looks only help.

Sebastian Stan, Kings and Gossip Girl

#29 Misha Collins, Supernatural

If all angels looked this good, we’d hurry up to get to Heaven. Misha Collins manages to make a trench coat look sexy, and in 2009 he moved from a dull, stiff angel to a serious and hilarious supporting character.

Misha Collins, Supernatural

#28 Mehcad Brooks, True Blood

Even burdened by the stupid nickname Eggs, Mehcad Brooks came onto True Blood and sexed up Tara in a very bad way. Sure, he was the unwilling puppet of a god and he killed a lot of people, but he was definitely hot enough to make any girl forget all about Jason.

Mehcad Brooks, True Blood

#27 Matthew Bomer, White Collar

We first really took notice of Matthew Bomer as Bryce Larkin on Chuck, but now as a con man working with the feds, he’s blossomed into a devilishly charismatic leading man who could easily con his way into any woman’s heart with much effort.

Matthew Bomer, White Collar

#26 Mark Salling, Glee

The bad boy is always the one who gets the girl, and as the brutish Puck, Salling oozes sex appeal and self-confidence. It also helps that, for our money, he’s a better singer than Cory Monteith.

Mark Salling, Glee

#25 Derek Hough, Dancing with the Stars

Not only is Derek Hough sexy, but he also has one of the best personalities on TV. Whether he’s goofing off, daydreaming about a day on the beach with Joanna Krupa or creating a wildly imaginative futuristic Paso Doble, Derek is always one hot tamale.

Derek Hough, Dancing with the Stars

#24 Mario Lopez, Nip/Tuck and America’s Best Dance Crew

He’s OK as the host of MTV’s dance competition, but the real heat comes on Nip/Tuck, a show which gladly and frequently has Mario strip down to either a bathing suit or a leather French maid’s outfit.

Mario Lopez, Nip/Tuck and Americas Best Dance Crew

#23 Kris Allen, American Idol

Sure, Adam Lambert may have had the voice, but Kris Allen had the good looks of an average American, the hotness of the completely attainable boy next door. His singing only makes him sexier.

Kris Allen, American Idol

#22 Kipytn Locke, The Bachelorette

They say nice guys finish last, but they forgot to mention that nice guys with 12-pack abs have a little more endurance. Kiptyn Locke used all his earthly charms (of which there were many) to woo Bachelorette Jillian Harris, and every week she gushed over his dreamy smile, puppy-dog eyes and rock-hard physique. This surfing hunk may not have won Jill’s heart in the end, but we doubt he’s had any trouble getting a date since then.

Kipytn Locke, The Bachelorette

#21 Justin Hartley, Smallville

We still want a Green Arrow spin-off, and while there seems to be less of Hartley than there used to be, we’re just happy that he’s shirtless almost every time he’s on the screen.

Justin Hartley, Smallville

#20 Justin Chambers, Grey’s Anatomy

The bad boy (Justin Chambers) grew up, marrying Izzie and starting a life together. Of course, she left and made him hurt, but turning tough guy Alex Karev into a sensitive man made him a little bit cuter, even if it is a bit emasculating.

Justin Chambers, Greys Anatomy

#19 Joshua Jackson, Fringe

Jackson continued to grow out of Pacey Witter in 2009 by becoming a bad-ass leading man and making tight sweaters look quite sexy.

Joshua Jackson, Fringe

#18 Jonathan Waud, Make Me a Supermodel

From the beginning, we were never sure why Jonathan was on this show since, as far as we could tell, he was ALREADY a supermodel. This British stud had a stunning physique and, luckily for us, he knows how to use it.

Jonathan Waud, Make Me a Supermodel

#17 Jeff Schroeder, Big Brother 11

While Big Brother 11 was full of hateful people and outright villains, Jeff was America’s golden boy, a hunky Chicago boy who combines a gorgeous body with a nice sense of humor. It’s just a shame he fell for the dumbest girl in the house.

Jeff Schroeder, Big Brother 11

#16 Ian Somerhalder, The Vampire Diaries

As the devilish and devious older brother, Ian Somerhalder is having more fun playing a vampire than he probably has for the rest of his career. He’s funny, evil and so sexy that we’re willing to overlook the fact that Damon Salvatore routinely bites and kills innocent people.

Ian Somerhalder, The Vampire Diaries

#15 Ed Westwick, Gossip Girl

Whether he’s kissing dudes or scheming with Blair, Ed Westwick has found a way to balance Chuck Bass’ smarm with just enough sensitivity to make him the most desirable man on Gossip Girl. We’re not sure if that’s a compliment to him or a harsh critique of the lameness of the other guys on this show.

Ed Westwick, Gossip Girl

#14 David Boreanaz, Bones

Bones is probably the most fun-to-watch procedural on TV, and a large part of that is because David Boreanaz has simple, everyman charm. Of course, every man doesn’t look like him, but it’s a credit to him that we still think Seeley Booth is perfectly attainable.

David Boreanaz, Bones

#13 Charlie Hunnam, Sons of Anarchy

Murderous motorcycles might not be your idea of a hot guy, but as Jax Teller, Charlie Hunnam manages to humanize his bad boy character and make us not only feel sorry for him, but love him.

Charlie Hunnam, Sons of Anarchy

#12 Austin Nichols, One Tree Hill

When Nichols first showed up in Tree Hill, he was the villain. But during his whirlwind romance with Brooke Davis, most of which has been spent nude or semi-nude, he’s become the incredibly hot movie producer with a boyish grin who you hope will you a perfect Hollywood ending.

Austin Nichols, One Tree Hill

#11 Alex O’Loughlin, Three Rivers

Still hot from his beloved stint on Moonlight, O’Loughlin put on a pair of scrubs to become the next George Clooney or McDreamy. While Three Rivers isn’t exactly burning up the ratings, the thought of O’Loughlin saving a life is all the fire we need.

Alex OLoughlin, Three Rivers

#10 Nathan Fillion, Castle

Castle is a surprise hit for ABC, but what’s not a surprise is how charismatic and charming Nathan Fillion is. Whedon fans knew all about how great Fillion was back on Firefly, but now a broader audience is finally getting clued in to this leading man’s wickedly inviting ways.

Nathan Fillion, Castle

#9 Gilles Marini, Dancing with the Stars and Brothers and Sisters

Whether he’s burning up the dance floor or steaming up Sarah Walker’s love life, the French stud from the Sex and the City movie spent 2009 going from that guy who showered naked next to Samantha to TV’s de facto foreign hottie.

Gilles Marini, Dancing with the Stars and Brothers and Sisters

#8 Jon Hamm, Mad Men

Being Don Draper isn’t easy. Your wife wants a divorce, your kid’s former teacher wants to have an affair with you, you drink and smoke all day long and you’re expected to be brilliant on a moment’s notice. Luckily for Jon Hamm, he’s debonair and handsome enough to make all these problems seem like nothing.

Jon Hamm, Mad Men

#7 John Cho, FlashForward

We always knew John Cho was funny, but he’s showing a new side of himself on FlashForward. He’s serious, driven and a little scared of his future, but with his good looks and earnest attempt to save the day, we’d always say “Yes” to Demetri Noh.

John Cho, FlashForward

#6 Jensen Ackles, Supernatural

After a rough transition out of Hell, Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) finally stepped up and started to fight back, not letting the Apocalypse bring him down. His TV brother may have turned a little evil, but Dean straightened him out and proved why he’s the older, wiser, and better-looking brother.

Jensen Ackles, Supernatural

#5 Paul Wesley, The Vampire Diaries

You Twilight fans can keep your Edwards and your Jacobs, because television has Paul Wesley as Stefan Salvatore. He combines Edward Pattinson’s wounded, brooding eyes with Taylor Lautner’s insanely toned body, and we don’t need to wait once a year to see him do his thing.

Paul Wesley, The Vampire Diaries

#4 Josh Holloway, Lost

In season 5, Josh Holloway’s Sawyer finally stopped being the resident antagonist and took a leadership role, proving that the only thing hotter than a bad boy is one who’s reformed and tries to settle down.

Josh Holloway, Lost

#3 Matthew Morrison, Glee

There’s something undeniably sexy about this glee club teacher with a song in his heart and inspiration in his veins. Not only is his Will Schuester the kind of guy fans root for, but Matthew Morrison is one oh-so-handsome guy with an amazing voice.

Matthew Morrison, Glee

#2 Alexander Skarsgard, True Blood

HBO’s vampire drama is filled with attractive men, but this tall Nordic drink of water was the one no woman could get out of her head, including Sookie. With a new, streamlined haircut, Skarsgard stood head and shoulders above the rest of this gorgeous cast, making every woman wish they could get bitten by him in Bon Temps.

Alexander Skarsgard, True Blood

#1 Tahmoh Penikett, Dollhouse and Battlestar Galactica

In 2009, Tahmoh Penikett became the go-to hunk for hip sci-fi. On Battlestar Galactica, he finished out the series as Helo by doing whatever it took to keep his wife and daughter safe. He then moved to Dollhouse and broke every rule he could in order to find and save Caroline. During all this saving, Tahmoh looked darn good doing it, a rugged, sexy man moving to the top of our list.

Tahmoh Penikett, Dollhouse and Battlestar Galactica
