Keeping Up with the Kardashians Trivia Born on October 21, 1980 in Los Angeles, California, Kimberly Noel Kardashian is among personalities like Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie in the way they claimed recognition: their social lives. She is the daughter of lawyer Robert Kardashian—best known for being O.J. Simpson’s lawyer during his murder trial—and Kris Jenner. While attending high school, she worked for her father’s music marketing firm, Movie Tunes.
Kim is the second child of what would eventually be a large family. Her parents had four children—sisters Kourtney and Khloe, and brother Robert—before their separation in 1989. Her mother eventually married Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner, who already had four children, in 1991; the couple would later have two children of their own. The extended family’s antics are the subject of the popular reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, where Kim stars.
However, Kim first gained notoriety when her sex video with her then boyfriend, singer Ray J, was leaked online. This, and her legal tussle with Vivid Entertainment, which gained distribution rights to the video, catapulted her to showbiz headlines and made her a discussion point among gossip circles.
Kim has also worked as an entrepreneur, following the footsteps of her father, who died in 2003. She worked as a wardrobe stylist for television shows and photo shoots, among others, before branching out as a closet designer, organizing and designing closets for clients such as Cindy Crawford, Nicole Richie, Kathie Lee Gifford and Kenny G. She also opened, along with her sisters, the designer clothing store Dash.
Aside from Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim also appeared on other television programs, including The Simple Life, Beyond the Break, Celebrity Family Feud and WWE Raw. She has also recently dabbled in film, her first being Disaster Movie, which is set for a 2008 release.
