Ubuntu Goode is a character in the animated series The Goode Family. Created by Mike Judge, who is also behind animated programs like Beavis and Butt-head and King of the Hill, the series revolves around a “green” family who insist on living a politically correct lifestyle: using reusable shopping bags, driving hybrid cars, and recycling, among others. Ubuntu is the adopted son of Gerald and Helen Goode. Concerned about the overpopulation in Africa, they decided to adopt him—a white man from South Africa, although the parents continue to insist that they wanted a black baby. Dave Herman provides the character’s voice.
