Michael ‘Sugar Daddy’ Bernardino is played by Ron Lester on the WB’s teen drama series Popular. A gangster wannabe, he struggles with weight issues but is also on the football team with his best friend Josh. Though he tries to achieve the persona of a hardcore rapper and gangster, he’s actually a boy-next-door type with a good heart deep down and a genuine concern for his friends. He was also involved in an online relationship that seemed to work well, but when he met the girl offline it turned out to be Carmen, who panicked and left him behind. Despite his kind demeanor underneath, he remains insecure about his social status and his weight problems, leading him to limit himself within his own social circle and ridicule others outside of it.
