Born on August 4, 1944 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Richard Belzer is an actor and stand-up comedian. Growing up, he was notorious for being kicked out of almost every school he has attended. Fortunately, he was able to graduate from Andrew Warde High School. He also enlisted in the army after being forced to drop out of college.
As an actor, Belzer is most famous for his role as John Munch, a character he portrayed on Homicide: Life on the Street and still continues to play Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. His other credits include Fame, The Flash, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Night Shift, and Scarface. Some of his most recent films include BelzerVizion, where he served as executive producer, Polish Bar and Santorini Blue.
