Former supermodel Rachel Hunter was born on September 9, 1969 in Auckland, New Zealand. Her modeling career began when she was 17 years old and reached celebrity status as a model when she appeared on the pages of Sports Illustrated in 1989. She graced the covers of Cosmopolitan Magazine and the yearly swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated. In 2004, Playboy reportedly gave Hunter $1.8 million just to pose naked for the adult publication. She has also been the face of Cover Girl, Revlon, and Pantene.

Hunter has also tried to build a career as an actress by taking up several acting lessons and appearing in some independent films like A Walk in the Park and Two Shades of Blue. Her other acting credits include the movie The Benchwarmers and the music video for Fountains of Wayne’s “Stacy’s Mom.” On one occasion called the female Simon Cowell, Hunter is also an animal rights supporter, reportedly spending $15,000 for the dog house of her pets which was an exact replica of her Bel Air mansion. She was married to singer Rod Stewart for 13 years until 2003, and they have two kids.

In 2005, Hunter was asked to join the first season of the ABC reality series Dancing with the Stars. She was paired with professional ballroom dancer Jonathan Roberts and was eliminated from the show after only three weeks. She also played the role of Ginger in the reality show The Real Gilligan's Island.

Hunter is also a contestant in the NBC reality show Celebrity Circus, which features six celebrities who will learn the ropes of circus life, including mastering death-defying stunts with high wires, flying trapezes, and fire dancing. The contestants will then face a panel of judges for critique. She describes the feeling when doing the stunts as “sheer terror” because she needs to do “everything opposite that our bodies and our minds would do in a normal, everyday situation.” She says while she respects Dancing with the Stars, Celebrity Circus is a completely different show, where she points out that she needs to train six hours a day.
