muMs da Schemer is a poet, producer, and performer who was born on 1963 in New York City. His original birth name was Craig Grant. He studied at Mount St. Michael Academy High School in the Bronx, before going on to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Among the television shows that Schemer has acted in are Boston Legal, Law and Order: Criminal Intent,
and The Sopranos.
He has worked on feature films such as Rhyme Animal, On the One, and Dark Water. Schemer also contributed to the 2005 video game The Warrior, as well as writing for the short film Morning Breath and the soundtrack for Bamboozled.
Arnold “Poet” Jackson is portrayed by muMs da Schemer in the HBO prison drama television series Oz. He was thrown in jail for attempted murder and armed robbery, and he is addicted to heroin. Poet earned his moniker because of his fondness for writing and reciting free verse poetry. With the help of Tim McManus and Kareem Said, he manages to get an early parole. However, Poet is brought back to the prison after he kills a drug dealer, when the dealer was trying to collect money that he owed. Poet becomes a full-fledged part of the Homeboy gang.
