Born on December 2, 1979 in Dallas, Texas, actress Melissa Jean Archer landed her first major role in the television series Wishbone at the age of 17. She has gotten involved in projects spanning film and television, and has been known to do theater work as well.

Melissa Archer got her share of the limelight when she was cast as Natalie Buchanan on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live. Her character was raised by Roxy Balsom, and she later went to Llanview to claim her rightful place in the Buchanan residence. Archer originated the role in 2001, which enabled her to work alongside Michael Easton, Renee Goldsberry, Trevor St. John, Bree Williamson, Brandon Buddy and Forbes March. In April 2003, Archer received a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Newcomer, due to her acclaimed performance on the show. Her co-stars, particularly David Chisum, have described her as “very fun to work with,” as well as being an easy-going person yet professional in her job.

Other than acting, Melissa Archer has also prided herself in being a dancer. In her free time, she enjoys karaoke and solving challenging logic puzzles. Archer can be heard singing “Remember New Orleans” as a track on the One Life Many Voices Disaster Relief CD, alongside her co-stars. She has also been a supporter of Daytime Unites for Africa, the Susan G. Konen Breast Cancer Foundation, Red Cross and Love Hallie organization.
