Marcus A.K.A. Qis from Los Angeles, California was an athlete his whole life, as he played football with his twin brother. Both had dreams of playing for the NFL until he tore his ACL and had neck and back spasms in junior college, thus killing his dreams of becoming a football player. Qis then turned to performing and joined a boy band, with which he worked for seven years. He never sang before, thus his band members taught him everything he now knows about singing. However, he did know how to dance prior to joining the group, thus it wasn't a problem for him. Having a year of voice training behind him, he did not undergo any dance training, but was on a competitive dance team in high school. The team won a number of competitions, and eventually landed second place at Nationals.
Admittedly a "starving artist," Qis has gone through a lot of challenges in his life as a performer, and sees these experiences as something that has made him stronger. He also admits that it was faith that made him audition for the reality show, Dance War, and it is also faith that will take him wherever he is meant to go.
Qis is one of 14 contestants in Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann, where he is recruited into Team Carrie Ann.
