Biography

Born in Salisbury, Maryland on September 26, 1956, Linda Hamilton is an award-winning American actress. She attended Washington College in Maryland before moving to New York to study acting. She starred in minor roles on several television shows before her major TV role of Lisa Rogers in the 1980 soap opera, Secrets of Midland Heights.

In 1984, Linda Hamilton had her film debut appearing as Vicky in the horror film, Children of the Corn. This was followed by a supporting role in The Stone Boy, before she was cast in the blockbuster hit The Terminator. She then starred in Black Moon Rising with Tommy Lee Jones. She was then cast in numerous television roles including her acclaimed performance in Murder, She Wrote. She was also applauded for her portrayal in the TV series Beauty and the Beast. She received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal. Hamilton reprised her role as Sarah Connor in the sequel Terminator II: Judgment Day in 1991. It became that year’s highest-grossing film.

After the success of The Terminator, Linda Hamilton hosted Saturday Night Live. She then earned another Golden Globe nomination for her role in the television drama, A Mother’s Prayer. She gained commercial success once again for her performance in 1997’s Dante’s Peak, and was also a guest star on the series Frasier. She has done numerous TV movies, some of these being On the Line, The Color of Courage, Bailey’s Mistake, A Girl Thing and Silent Night. During the 2000s, she was cast in movies like Wholey Moses, Jonah and Smile. In 2005, she reunited with Beauty and the Beast co-star Ron Perlman in the film Missing in America. She was also given roles in The Kid & I, In Your Dreams and Broken. Linda Hamilton was also a guest star in the series Thief and According to Jim.
