Exclusive Interview: Joshua Gomez, from 'Chuck' Actor Joshua Gomez was born on November 20, 1975 in Bayonne, New Jersey. The younger brother of actor Rick Gomez, best known for roles in The Adventures of Pete and Pete and Band of Brothers, he began his career in 2001, appearing as a guest on an episode of Law & Order. After a recurring role in the short-lived science fiction series Invasion, he took a recurring role in the CBS crime series Without a Trace, appearing as computer expert James Mackeroy. He also became involved in providing voices for video games, as well as appearing in some national television commercials.
Gomez broke out 2007, when he received a major role in the NBC series Chuck. There he played the role of Morgan Grimes, the best friend and colleague of the title character (Zachary Levi). His character—a supportive and loyal friend who does everything possible to escape his work—earned him an ALMA Award nomination for Outstanding Male Performance in a Comedy Television Series.
