Born on November 1, 1972, Jennifer Ann “Jenny” McCarthy is an American model, comedian, acrtress and author. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended the Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School. She was also the cheerleader at both Brother Rice High School and St. Laurence High Schools before attending Southern Illinois University to study nursing. To pay for college, she submitted her picture to Playboy magazine, which made her a model.
In 1993, Jenny McCarthy posed for the October Playboy issue, and led her to move to Los Angeles. She also briefly hosted Hot Rocks, a Playboy TV show. She left it to host MTV’s dating show Singled Out in 1995, after appearing as an extra in the film Things to do in Denver When You’re Dead. She also appeared in WrestleMania XI as a guest valet for Shawn Michaels. The next year, she was cast a small role in the comedy The Stupids while also appearing on shows like Baywatch and Mr. Show with Bob and David. Jenny McCarthy launched two shows in 1997, one for MTV called The Jenny McCarthy Show. Its popularity was noticed by NBC and she was signed to do a sitcom known as Jenny. It was quickly canceled, but McCarthy continued to appear in two covers of Playboy, as well as releasing an autobiography, Jen-X.
She then starred in 1998’s comedy BASEketball and in 1999’s Diamonds. She then turned down the role for Scary Movie to star in Scream 3. She has also appeared in numerous television shows like The Drew Carey Show, Fastlane, Just Shoot Me!, Stacked and Charmed. She then agreed to appear in Scary Movie 3 in 2003 with Pamela Anderson. Her next project was producing, writing and starring in Dirty Love, also featuring Carmen Electra. She also hosted another reality show in 2005, E!’s Party at the Palms. Jenny McCarthy has continued to work for Playboy and has voiced the character Six in the Canadian sci-fi cartoon Tripping the Rift.
