Biography

British thespian Jack Weber was born in London on March 19, 1964. He got his literature and political science degree from Middlebury College in Vermont, and then studied at the prestigious Juilliard School. He graduated from there in 1991, continuing his education at the Moscow Art Theatre. Other than acting, he has also been known for singing in Middlebury College’s Dissipated Eight, an all-male collegiate a cappella ensemble.

Jake Weber has had a variety of film and television credits. He has been seen on episodes of Law & Order, American Gothic and NYPD Blue. He got his feature film break-out role in 1993, appearing alongside Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington in The Pelican Brief. He followed this up with roles in the comedy Cultivating Charlie, and the series Vanishing Son II and IV. In 1997, he was cast in the historical film Amistad, starring Morgan Freeman, Nigel Hawthorne and Anthony Hopkins. Weber was subsequently seen on the big screen when he took on a role in Dangerous Beauty, a romance featuring Catherine McCormack, Rufus Sewell, Oliver Platt and Naomi Watts. Some of Weber’s other films during the late 1990s were Into My Heart, Meet Joe Black, Pushing Tin, In Too Deep and Cherry. He was later seen in The Cell, before making an appearance on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In 2002, he was cast in the drama Leo, and the comedy 100 Mile Rule. He soon took on the role of Jake Berman in the series The Mind of the Married Man. His career next brought him to roles on a string of films. Weber got a role in the drama The Warrior Class, as well as the horror Dawn of the Dead. His next project was 2004’s Haven, a crime drama also starring Orlando Bloom, Razaaq Adoti, and Agnes Bruckner. He became known for playing Joe DuBois on the NBC hit drama Medium. His character is the supportive husband of Allison, played by Patricia Arquette.
