American actress Hallie Todd was born on January 7, 1962 in Los Angeles, California. The daughter of producer George Eckstein, she has worked on a number of television productions. Todd is known for being the co-founder of the production company In House Media, and of the acting conservatory Hallie Todd Studios, dedicated to training young and aspiring actors.
Hallie Todd has appeared on several television shows. She began her career appearing on an episode of Family, and had an uncredited role in the film Fast Times at Ridgemont High starring Sean Penn. She is also known for playing a homeless character on the Christmas episode of the sitcom Growing Pains, released in 1986. She was seen in The Golden Girls, Highway to Heaven, and the drama film Sam’s Son. Todd also got a role in the Showtime comedy series Brothers, before playing Data’s “daughter” in Star Trek: The Next Generation. She has also acted on a number of episodes of Murder, She Wrote, and continued her career with appearances in Laurie Hill, Brooklyn Bridge, Murder One, and Two of a Kind with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. She soon worked with Melissa Joan Hart in Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, playing the cousin of Hilda and Zelda. Soon after, she landed the role of Lizzie’s mother, Jo McGuire on the Disney series Lizzie McGuire. She reprised this role in The Lizzie McGuire Movie in 2003, and has worked on numerous other Disney Shows. She lent her voice to the character Summer Gale in an episode of Kim Possible, and played Dr. Phyliss in Brandy & Mr. Whiskers. Todd has also been cast in an episode of Malcolm in the Middle, and has acted in the TV movies The Ultimate Christmas Present and Thanksgiving Family Reunion. She has also married actor Glenn Withrow, who helps her teach acting classes.
