Biography

Esther Ku realized that she has the talent to make people laugh back when she was three years old, when she and her dad are eating at Wendy’s. The woman who was vacuuming laughed hilariously when she lifted her feet even though hers weren’t touching the floor. She first stepped on the stage as a stand-up comedian when she was 13, during her school’s Eighth Grade Talent Show. Esther Ku’s greatest fear as a comic would have to be when she’ll say something funny and laugh at it until she’ll collapse on the floor and won’t be able to stop. Luckily, that hasn’t happen to her yet.

Esther Ku considers her good-natured family as her influence in making other people laugh. Her parents and siblings are natural comedians, always teasing each other whenever they can. As for her favorite television show, Ku said that she could watch reruns of America’s Funniest Home Videos forever. Her favorite movie on the other hand is Johnny Depp’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Esther Ku became known as one of the finalists of the Last Comic Standing, a reality talent show on NBC searching for the funniest and wackiest stand-up comedian in the country. After being eliminated on the first round, she has since returned to comedy. She became a finalist on Howard Stern's Hottest Funniest Chick contest on Sirius Satellite Radio and has appeared on a couple of short films.
