Actor Esteban Powell was born in Houston, Texas. After attending the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, he made his debut in the film Dazed and Confused in 1993. His first major role came in 1996, when he headlined the horror series Bone Chillers, which was followed by roles in other shows such as Beverly Hills 90210 and Touched by an Angel.
In 2000, Powell took on a role in the short-lived sci-fi series Level 9; there he appeared as a member of the team, Jargon. He furthered his appearances on screen during this time, mostly on films such as Runaways, Paper Cut, Three Blind Mice, Bunny Whipped and Shiloh Falls. He also appeared in shows such as Gilmore Girls, Charmed and Monk, and was later followed by a regular role in the A&E series The Cleaner, as a member of a team of recovering addicts helping others recover.
