Born on July 25, 1973, David Denman is a graduate of The Juilliard Drama Division, Group 26, and attended the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. Having discovered acting as his real passion, he pursued a career by working on various television series.
David Denman has gotten roles on series like ER , Chicago Hope, The Pretender, and The X-Files. He continued landing parts in the small screen, such as playing the demon Skip in several episodes of Angel. He followed this up with a role in the Tim Burton-directed Big Fish in 2003. That year, he was cast in the films The Singing Detective, after appearing in The Replacements. Some of Denman’s other projects include roles in CSI: Miami, Crossing Jordan, Without a Trace, and Bones. He became known for playing Roy Anderson in the hit NBC series The Office, starring Steve Carell. Denman was a huge fan of the original British version of the show. Upon finding out that they were casting for the American version, he called his agent and tried out. Despite earlier doubts on the success of the series, the cast rose to fame for their performances later on. He has also been seen on Close to Home, Second Time Around and Night Stalker. Denman’s other film credits are roles in 2001’s Out Cold, The Nines, Cake: A Wedding Story, the horror When a Stranger Calls and the comedy If I Had Known I Was a Genius. In 2007, Denman got roles in the drama Take, starring Minnie Driver, as well as on episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and K-Ville. Denman is also known for sharing a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, with his The Office cast members. In 2008, he appeared in the productions Smart People, Shutter, Fanboys and Night Life.
