Biography

Canadian-born New Zealand actor Daniel Gillies first appeared in the 1998 film A Soldier's Sweetheart but got his breakthrough role on the 2000 TV series Street Legal as Tim O'Connor. Since then, he has landed more gigs on TV, including Into the West as Ethan Biggs, Masters of Horror as Jack Miller, Mentors as King Arthur, and NCIS as Royal Marine Major Peter Malloy. His most famous role thus far, however, is Elijah, one of the original vampires on The Vampire Diaries. He appeared on The CW series from 2010 to 2013. In 2012, he joined the cast of the medical drama Saving Hope as Dr. Joel Goran. In 2013, he joined the cast of The Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals.
