Born on February 26, 1982 in Arcata, California, actress Amanda Loncar went to a high school in Sacramento, California. She is the daughter of a surgeon (father) and a nurse (mother), and has two younger siblings named Zack and Lily. When she was eighteen years old, she relocated to New York City, where she spent two years training at The New Actor’s Workshop. She has been acting with Mike Nichols, George Morrison and Paul Sills to develop her talents.
Before her breakthrough in television, Amanda Loncar worked on a number of barely publicized films. She was cast on the short Flash in 2004, written and directed by Laurence Swanson. In 2004, she worked with Montgomery Maguire in the drama Pulling. She also starred in Fertile Ground the next year, and followed this up by playing the character Erica in the comedy Building Girl. After filming an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Amanda Loncar was cast in CSI: Miami. She soon landed the role of Piper on the Fox comedy series The Loop, where she portrays a pre-medical student and love interest of the lead character played by Bret Harrison. She soon got a role in the short film 5G, and was in an episode of The Bedford Diaries as Olive Bettes. Her later film credits include roles in 2007’s On the Road with Judas, the comedy Live! and the war thriller Lions for Lambs. This allowed her to star alongside Robert Redford, Meryl Streep, Tom Cruise and Michael Pena. She also portrayed Taylor in the miniseries It’s a Mall World, and made an appearance on the episode “Wait for It” for the series How I Met Your Mother starring Jason Segel, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan. Loncar was next seen on the drama Grey’s Anatomy, and has guest-starred on an episode of Lipstick Jungle.
