What do you think happened to the people we saw on the island but were not in the church, like Miles, Daniel, Charlotte, Danielle and Alex? Why did'nt Desmond take Daniel with him? Why did'nt Daniel have a flash like everyone else when he met Charlotte?

I think it's because we were watching the story from Jack's point of view. The people in the church were the most important to Jack in the story. Miles, Daniel, Charlotte, Danielle, and Alex were ancillary characters in Jack's story, whereas everybody in the church was with Jack through the most important part of his life, up to and including his death. I think it would have been fantastic to see Vincent there in the church, since he was there at the beginning when Jack opened his eye after the crash, then there with him when he died. As for why Daniel didn't flash on Charlotte...no idea, I was wondering the same thing. I really wanted to see the two of them together, I always felt their relationship ended poorly.

Also, I think that some of those others may not have actually been there in the sideways world, like how David wasn't actually Jack's son. The others who were not in the church may have only been representations of something else, or filler characters for the world they created to find each other in.

There are also the possiblity that the people not in the church are not ready to move on. Like Ben, who I assumed felt he had to make it completly up to Danielle and Alex before he moved on. Maybe the rest also felt that way.

Hmmm taking away from the usual actors not being available......all the people were from the original crash (or attached to original crash excluding good old Des). As was stated that they agreed to meet there recognising how pivotal it was to them. So realistically no tailies or people who arrived on the freighter. In the end it was about Jack and those closest to him
