Series Premiere of 'Women's Murder Club' Airs Tonight
Crime author James Patterson's best-selling novels are coming to life tonight with the series premiere of ABC's Women's Murder Club.  The show is an hour-long drama about four successful working women in San Francisco who use their expertise, close relationship and instincts to solve murder cases.  Together, they uncover clues to the city's most disturbing homicides.

The series opens with an episode called “Welcome to the Club,” wherein Homicide Inspector Lindsay Boxer (Angie Harmon), Medical Examiner Claire Washburn (Paula Newsome) and Assistant D.A. Jill Bernhardt (Laura Harris), cautiously introduce crime reporter Cindy Thomas (Aubrey Dollar) into the Women's Murder Club.

Also in the episode, Lindsay works with Detective Warren Jacobi (Tyrees Allen) to solve a deadly crime of passion and jealousy, while all the women sort through issues of their own.  Lindsay's ex-husband, Tom (Rob Estes) joins the department in a leadership role, Claire tries her best to cope with her husband's depression, and Jill makes some major domestic changes.

Guest stars include James Huang as Officer Sam Cho, Coby Ryan McLaughlin as Luke Bowen, Marc Vann as David, Nathan Baesel as Walton James, Kyle Secor as Hanson North, Judith Hoag as Dr. Raine Van Aiken, Paul Hipp as Miles Van Aiken, Jonathan Adams as Ed Washburn, Drew Mathews as Nate Washburn and Eddie Mui as the clerk.

The debut episode of Women's Murder Club was written by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain, and directed by Greg Yaitanes.  Patterson, an award-winning American novelist, serves as a writer on the series, but the only storyline that has been translated into Women's Murder Club is the ongoing search for a serial killer.

According to TV Guide, tonight's episode is an entirely different production from the show's original pilot, which executive producer Joe Simpson said was crowded with too many characters and too many murders.  The new pilot is reportedly darker and more grisly.

Catch the series premiere of Women's Murder Club tonight at 9/8c on ABC.
