With the fourth season premiere of Weeds
just a few days away, details about the new season of the dark dramedy series are gradually emerging. So far, we already know that there's going to be some huge changes this season
such as the replacement of the opening theme song “Little Boxes,” the relocation to a rundown seaside California town near the Mexican border, and the addition of several actors, including comedian Albert Brooks, Boston Legal
's Julie Bowen
and Mexican actor Demian Bichir. But among all the changes, the most shocking is the nonappearance of regulars Conrad (Romany Malco
) and Heylia James (Tonye Patano
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
“You won't see Conrad and Heylia. I think that, in terms of the show, the relationship with Heylia just ran its course. They've been through too much, they've done too much to each other and, as in life, people drift in and out of your world. And with Conrad, [he and Nancy] weren't going to be the love story of the century. They burned each other and it was time to move on. I don't think they're forgetting about each other, but there was obviously no future for them,” show creator Jenji Kohan told Zap2it.com.
While these two cast members, who have been with Weeds
since the first season, won't be part of the new episodes, that doesn't mean that fans have seen the last of Conrad and Heylia.
“I'm happy to say it out loud, I'd love to do a spin off with them and set it in a pot club as a faux-reality type of show,” Kohan added. “We just had our hump day last week. [Weeds
is] done shooting about mid-July, so I'd like to [look into that].”
, Conrad is the smart and tough weed farmer who serves as Nancy's (Mary-Louise Parker
) business partner and potential love interest. Heylia, on the other hand, is a weed dealer who knows what she wants and how to get it. She is the aunt of Conrad and has a tender spot for her family.
