Born on December 12, 1970 in Sparks, Nevada, Mädchen Amick was encouraged by her parents to pursue the arts when she was a child. She then learned to play musical instruments such as the piano, bass, violin and guitar and took lessons in tap, ballet, jazz and modern dance. By the time she was sixteen, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting and first appeared on Star Trek: The Next Generation and The Borrower. Her big break was when she appeared in Twin Peaks as waitress Shelly Johnson, a role she also played in the feature film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. In 1992, Amick appeared in the movie Sleepwalkers and a year later, she appeared in the TV movie Love, Cheat and Steal. Her other films include Dream Lover, French Exit and Bombshell. She returned to television, appearing in Central Park West and Fantasy Island. She also had recurring roles were on television series such as
Gilmore Girls ,
ER , Jake in Progress and
Joey .
Natalie Holden is played by Mädchen Amick in the CBS television series Viva Laughlin. Natalie is the attractive wife of Ripley Holden, an ambitious man who aims to run his own casino in Laughlin, Nevada. He hit a financial obstacle as he ran out of money to fund his casino in the making. He then approaches his rival for financial assistance, and because of his operations, he apparently hasn't got time for his family. Natalie is asking for attention and time is running out. The glitz and glamour of Laughlin may keep her busy or snatch her away from her family. Either way, Viva Laughlin follows Ripley Holden as he gets torn between his business ventures and his duty as a father and husband.
