The Veronica Mars movie is just two weeks away. Premiering in theaters on March 14, the film version of the cult classic TV series is a result of the trailblazing Kickstarter campaign that saw fans funding the film.

Veronica Mars is available on Amazon Prime.

Now the show's creator and the film's writer/director Rob Thomas has released the first two minutes of the movie online to get fans excited.

Sadly there's no real new footage, but the opening two minutes is a brilliant bit of narration by star Kristen Bell giving viewers the 411 on the show's premise. For old fans, it's a refresher course on season 1, all about how a plucky high school girl became a teen P.I. to solve the murder of her best friend, how her father got run out of office and how her tumultuous relationship with Logan Echolls began and ended.

For new viewers unfamiliar with the TV series, it should give you a clear impression of what the show is. All of the major plot points are there, but Bell's voiceover work also conveys the tone, snark meets film noir. And her final line before the opening title appears is one that all fans will enjoy.

Veronica Mars hits the big screen March 14.
