There may be a noticeable number of people giving up on freshman series V, but the network sounds like it's really pushing for the show's success. ABC hired a couple of new producers to work on the sci-fi drama, and word is they have quite an impressive background.
John Wirth and Natalie Chaidez are going to be familiar names once you tune in to V next year. Though if you already know who they are, we won't be surprised. These two are both from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Airlock Alpha reports that Wirth was executive producer then while Chaidez was co-exec. She'll be doing the same for
V soon, while Wirth will serve as the series' consulting producer. They will also help out with the show's writing team, further improving storylines for the program.
But if you're still not convinced at Wirth and Chaidez's addition to the staff, we can take a look at their credentials. Even though they come from a canceled TV series, they still deserve some applause for their previous work.
Aside from being known for writing the acclaimed
Sarah Connor episode "The Turk", John Wirth has been toiling behind the scenes for
Ghost Whisperer and
Nash Bridges. He has also been part of
The District and
Picket Fences.
As for Natalie Chaidez, she became a co-executive producer for
Heroes' first season and writing a couple more episodes. She's also worked on
Judging Amy and
New York Undercover.
The news of bringing these producers for
V also comes with the previous report of showrunner Scott Peters being replaced by
Chuck's executive producer Scott Rosenbaum. With all the changes that the network's been making for the sci-fi newcomer, it seems as though they're really betting on letting it last long.
However, ABC is still testing the waters here. An announcement from the network, as reported by
The Futon Critic, reveals that
V will be an episode shy of its original numbers.
The total order was supposed to be 13 hours, but it's been reduced to 12. A new showrunner comes in, then two new producers, and this? What could it mean for the fate of
V then?
