Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima might have just been a guest star on the ABC series Ugly Betty, but she's the leading lady in this real-life story. The Victoria's Secret Angel and her husband, NBA star Marko Jaric, have received the great news of welcoming their first-born.
"Adriana and Marko are overjoyed that they are expecting their first child together and are excited to share the happy news and start their family together," said her representatives.
Regarding their first child, the supermodel is three months pregnant and ecstatic about it. She's due to have the baby delivered this winter, as confirmed by the couple's reps.
Adriana Lima and the Serbian basketball player Marko Jaric were wed in 2009. The ceremony was private, held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on Valentine's Day. Later on, they began to plan for an extravagant wedding in Salvador this June. However, they instead chose to have two weddings in each of their hometowns.
At the time of their wedding, she was interviewed by
People magazine. She exclaimed, "We are so excited about our future together,"
Lima met Jaric in 2006, when he played for the Memphis Grizzlies. Two years later, the two got engaged on the birthday of the supermodel.
The
Ugly Betty guest star, who has always been a fan of the series, was seen on the third season of the show. She played herself in a photo shoot and soon befriended the lead character played by America Ferrera. In addition, she became part of the storyline in which Kimmie (Lindsay Lohan) is fired by Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams).
Adriana Lima has had quite a career, both involved in the fashion industry and acting. While she's best known for her work in Victoria's Secret, she's also appeared on numerous films. Lima has had a role in 2001's
The Follow, starring Mickey Rourke and Forest Whitaker. She followed this up with a short film for BMW, titled
The Hire. On television, the supermodel has had roles in
