Jeffrey Tambor was born and raised in San Francisco. He started acting at the age of 12 and studied at Wayne State University where he received his degree in theater arts. He worked in numerous Broadway and off-Broadway productions. He also starred in movies like
And Justice for All, Hellboy, City Slickers, Meet Joe Black and
Dr. Doolitlle. In addition, he received 2 Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy for his portrayal of George Bluth Sr. in the comedy series
Arrested Development. At present, he is part of the television series Twenty Good Years as Jeffrey Pyne.
