All hell has broken loose on True Blood after Russell ripped a newsman's spine out on national TV. Vampires are under attack, Eric fears for his life because he's dealing with a crazy, old vampire and Franklin is still a pile of goo outside Merlotte's.

Here's the official HBO synopsis for this week's episode, "I Smell a Rat."

"A reluctant Bill warns Sookie about the dangers she will face.  Jesus is intrigued by the mysterious qualities of V.  Sam's recent fit of rage triggers dark memories.  Eric takes precautions and fulfills a wish; Arlene turns to Holly for help with a pressing problem; Jason deals with the unexpected, both with Tara and Crystal; Jessica is torn between Tommy and Hoyt.  After communing with Talbot, Russell promises to extract vengeance on his enemies.."

HBO also has three video clips from this episode. The first shows Eric struggling to come up with a brilliant plan to fight back against Russell. The other videos feature Jessica being awesome and scaring the crap out of Arlene again and Tara have a mini-freak out over the body of another dead former lover. At least this one isn't sad, like Eggs.
