Another vampire has been added to the crazy town of Bon Temps and this time, he comes in the form of James Frain. According to
Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, the English actor has been cast on the third season of
True Blood in the heavily recurring role of Franklin Mott.
Read other True Blood casting news here. Franklin Mott, for those who haven't read the books, is basically Tara's vampire sugar daddy. But knowing series creator Alan Ball, he's probably going to take Frain's character in a different direction.
Still, it's safe to assume that Franklin Mott will serve as Tara's love interest in the upcoming season of
True Blood. Ausiello describes the casting breakdown of Franklin as "a tall, dark, and handsome vampire who seems to have an immediate and torrid connection to Tara"
How will Tara and Franklin hook up? Will Tara immediately get over the death of Eggs? Or will Franklin Mott glamour Tara? Fans will find out when
True Blood returns for its third season in June 2010. Frain, however, will make his debut on the HBO series in the second episode of the new season.
Aside from
True Blood, Frain, who is possibly best known for his role as Thomas Cromwell in the Showtime series
The Tudors in which he appeared from2007 to 2009 until his character was executed in the third season finale, will star in the fantasy horror TV feature
Crusades, as well as the action sci-fi movie
Tron Legacy, which hits theaters on December 17, 2010.
