Top Chef 5: "Superbowl Chef Showdown" Predictions
Top Chef 5: "Superbowl Chef Showdown" Predictions
While Radhika Desai lost the battle to remain in the competition last week on Top Chef 5, it was Hosea Rosenberg and Leah Cohen who lost the most on that episode. Their indiscretion earned the ire of many viewers and no doubt created havoc in their personal lives, not just with their partners (Hosea later posted a response that he and his girlfriend have since broken up) but also with all of the people that saw the show and formed an opinion about their actions.

Will the stress from what they've done be either chef's undoing this week on Top Chef 5?

I think of the two, Leah Cohen might be the most vulnerable. Hosea just seems to have a better track record, and so if both are equally distracted, then Leah just seems more likely to not impress the judges based on her past performance in Elimination Challenges.

I think that Carla Hall and Fabio Viviani could also be at risk. Carla has been holding on to her spot for a while, but other than her pastry success, she hasn't performed consistently well. Fabio is completely charming, and he has had some success in the competition. But his most recent win was as part of a team and when he hadn't done any of the cooking. And he's been called out as the worst in the Quickfire several times. He seems pretty talented despite his visits to the bottom of the heap, but he's got to step it up in the Elimination Challenge or his charm might not be enough to save him.

Jeff McInnis is on the fence for me. He's done really well at times, but also seems more vulnerable than the other two chefs I haven't mentioned, Jamie Lauren and Stefan Richter. As to those two, well, anything can happen, but they seem like they have both the skills and the self-confidence to keep them safe.

This week is a super-sized episode of Top Chef 5, and will feature chefs from previous seasons so tune in to catch some past favorites.
