Another week of drama straight from Genoa City begins again on
The Young and the Restless. If you remember from last week's
The Young and the Restless, Gloria (
Judith Chapman) was beaten at her own game by Jeffrey (Ted Shackelford), so she decided to push up her wedding date. Heather's (Vail Bloom) mother April came back to Genoa City, causing strife with Paul (
Doug Davidson).
Today's episode begins with JT (
Thad Luckinbill) at the GCAC. He has just witnessed David Chow (
Vincent Irizarry) in a secret meeting. He calls Nikki (
Melody Thomas Scott) to ask if she'll meet him.
At the other end of the GCAC dining room, April is scolding Paul for telling Heather that he's her father. There's a mildly tense stand-off. Heather, having run away from the awkwardness, goes over to the coffeehouse, looking like a mess. She sees all the "Free Jana" flyers everywhere. Heather calls April's cell and apologizes for storming out. Heather asks April to meet her alone.
Kevin (
Greg Rikaart) goes over to visit Jana (Emily O'Brien) in prison. She tells him that her meeting with Heather went really well, and his spirits are really high. He's also wearing one of his Free Jana t-shirts.
Gloria goes over to Jeffrey's room to discuss wedding matters. Jeffrey demands that they get married immediately, and wants a check for $100,000.
Michael (
Christian LeBlanc) storms home to tell Lauren (Tracey Bregman) that Jeffrey is extending the blackmailing to include all of them. They resolve to beat him.
Colleen (Tammin Sursok) surprises Adrian (
Eyal Podell) at the coffeehouse. Heather approaches her and advises her that the flyers and t-shirts are not all that effective, and a letter from Colleen might actually make a difference. Heather is only trying to help their cause, but Adrian gets very angry that Heather is involving Colleen. Daniel (
Michael Graziadei) comes in to talk to Heather, which breaks up the fight.
Michael and Lauren put their heads together to think of a plan to get back at Jeffrey.
Up in Jeffrey's room, Gloria refuses to write him a check. Instead, she suggests that they should fly to Vegas and get married tonight.
Maggie comes back to Paul's table at the GCAC to console him. She advises him to give Heather some time and space.
At the coffeehouse, Daniel is giving Heather a shoulder massage. She thanks him for stepping in with Adrian, and April walks in. Heather introduces them, and Daniel leaves after making plans with Heather to have dinner soon. Heather tells April that she wishes she never came to Genoa City because parental drama is the last thing she needs. April advises her to walk away from all of this and come home with her.
Elsewhere in the coffeehouse, Adrian tells Colleen that he's not okay with Colleen taking up Jana's cause. Jana nearly killed Colleen, and he can't stand to go through it again. He refuses to support her through this.
JT sits down with Nikki. He wants to talk to her because he saw David's heated argument with a stranger. He makes it clear that he's no longer working for Victor. Nikki says that she'll ask David what's up.
At the GCAC, David is having a tense argument on his cell phone with someone. He yells that he doesn't have the money, so back off. The question is, why doesn't he go up to his room to have this conversation, instead of in the middle of public view where professional snoops like Paul and Maggie can see and hear him. David gets off the phone, and Paul asks if everything is alright. David tries to pass it off as just a business call, but Paul's suspicions are not quieted.
Heather refuses to go home with April. Her future is in Genoa City.
Gloria rushes over to the coffeehouse to tell Kevin about her Las Vegas elopement. While she's gone, she needs him to set things up to make it look like Jeffrey is planning to off Gloria in a simple and elegant manner. Oh, this is so going to blow up in her face. I hope she actually accidentally kills Jeffrey in the process. That way, she'll have two murders to cover up.
Nikki goes home to find David. She opens by repeating that she wants to have an open and honest relationship and not keep any secrets. Nikki asks him what happened at the club last night. He says that it was nothing, and he wanted to spare her the details. He lies and says that the person he was meeting turned out to be a reporter who was trying to angle for details about Victor.
Colleen brings JT a sandwich, and in return, JT advises Colleen to cut Adrian some slack. JT gets a call from the hospital because Reed's condition has changed, and rushes out.
Daniel catches Heather alone and in a contemplative mood. He makes jokes with her and makes her laugh.
Gloria returns home. She tells Michael and Lauren that she's going out of town on a business trip to Albuquerque. Michael doesn't buy a single word of it. As soon as she leaves, Michael and Lauren get ready to tail her to see where she's really going.
Nikki realizes that Victor has frozen all of her assets.
