The Young and the Restless: November 20 Live Thoughts
The Young and the Restless: November 20 Live Thoughts
Nick (Joshua Morrow) is in the hospital on today's episode of The Young and the Restless, when he gets a call from Phyllis (Michelle Stafford).  They probably won't find out the result of her appeal until next week, meaning she will likely miss Summer's first Thanksgiving.

Michael (Christian LeBlanc) hunts through the kitchen for ingredients for their Thanksgiving dinner as Lauren (Tracey Bregman) checks the items off of her list.  Lauren asks her husband to promise to keep Gloria (Judith Chapman) out of the kitchen.  Michael gets a call from the court.  They are issuing a ruling for Phyllis' case today.  They decide not to tell Phyllis until they know the result.

Kevin (Greg Rikaart) is at work at the coffeehouse, but he's on the phone with Katherine (Jeanne Cooper).  Daniel (Michael Graziadei) is working on a paper for school and Amber (Adrienne Frantz) is totally not listening.  Lily (Christel Khalil) stops by and asks Daniel how he's doing.  They are actually being civil toward each other.  Kevin reports that Katherine and Jill are going away for the holiday to visit Katherine's son Brock, but Cane (Daniel Goddard) is staying in Genoa City.  Amber gets her hopes up that she might be able to spend Thanksgiving with Cane.

Karen (Nia Peeples) tells Neil that she can't join Neil (Kristoff St. John) and his family for Thanksgiving.  This is a big fat lie because Karen's mother is going to be in the Caribbean.  Karen just doesn't want to impose on the Winterses because she overheard Lily talking smack about her.

At the hospital, a mediator has been brought in to help Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Scott Thomas) come to a decision about what to do for Victoria (Amelia Heinle).

Amber convinces Kevin to ask Cane if he's free tomorrow for Thanksgiving.  Kevin invites him to come back to the coffeehouse because they will be giving away free meals.  Cane has a lot of paperwork to do, but he says he'll stop by if he can find some free time.

Lily arrives at Newman bearing coffee for Devon (Bryton McClure) and Neil.  She is secretly pleased to hear that Karen will not be joining them.

The warden tells Phyllis to gather her things because he's just heard from the appellate court that her conviction has been overturned and that she is free to go.  Phyllis is over the moon about this.

The mediation meeting is underway between Victor and Nikki.  All Nikki is asking for is enough time to give the baby a chance for survival, but Victor says that the only thing would save Victoria is a C-section.  The mediator breaks up their yelling match.

Nick gets a call from Michael and Lauren to give him the good news that Phyllis has been sprung from the slammer.  Finally, some good news for Nick.  Nick has to be a wet blanket, though, by telling them about Victoria's condition.  Not that I blame him.

At the coffeeshop, Amber schemes that she's going to bring a plate of turkey and all the fixin's over to Jabot for Cane.  This is going to end badly, Daniel and Kevin predicts.  Phyllis calls to tell her son the good news.

Lily invites Cane over for Thanksgiving, in front of Karen.

JT (Thad Luckinbill) and Brad (Don Diamont) argue about Victoria.  JT thinks that Brad doesn't care about Victoria as much as he does about the baby.  Brad replies that he doesn't know if the baby is his or JT's, but he knows that Victoria would do anything to save that baby so they have to wait until the last possible second before they act.  JT says that they won't know when the last possible second is until it's too late.  I have to agree with JT on this one.

Karen tells Lily that she overheard her telling Devon that she didn't want her there.  Lily tries to cover up and backtrack.  Karen is very gracious and tells that she understands that it's difficult for Lily.  Lily has a bad case of foot-in-mouth syndrome.

In the mediation meeting, Victor and Nikki rehash the same arguments that they have been stating all along.  There's nothing new going on, so let us just take a moment to stare in shock and awe at Nikki's hair.  It is no longer in a tight ponytail, but it's stiff, greasy and combed back harshly from her face.

Lily tells Devon about her conversation with Karen.  Lily feels horrible about it, and Devon lectures her to get over it and accept Karen.

Cane asks Amber if he can order something from the coffeehouse tomorrow to bring over to the Winters Thanksgiving gathering.  Amber is crushed to hear that she won't be able to spend the holiday with him after all, and that he's spending it with Lily.

Michael, Lauren and Daniel go over to prison to bring Phyllis home.  Jana is sad to see her cellmate leave.  In her excitement, Phyllis forgets to bring the dollhouse she made for Summer.

Amber is pissed off that Cane and Lily are going to be spending Thanksgiving together.  Kevin invites her to eat with his family.

Lily finds Karen and invites her over again.  She's sincere about it this time.  Neil gives Karen a box of chocolates, and Lily says that Karen is coming to dinner after all, along with Cane.  Neil is immediately apprehensive that Lily invited Cane.

Jana calls Kevin, sad that she won't be able to see him on Thanksgiving, but he promises that he's going to come see her.

Phyllis, Michael and Lauren rush to the hospital.  Phyllis and Nick have a great reunion that actually kind of brings a tear to my eye.  It's nice to have Phyllis back.  The Young and the Restless isn't the same with her in prison.

The mediator tells Nikki and Victor that there is no right or wrong in their situation.  Actually, I think there is.  You should save Victoria's life.

Next on The Young and the Restless: Lily has a breakdown, Amber gets one-on-one time with Cane, Kevin proposes to Jana in prison!
