David Duchovny


David William Duchovny was born on August 7, 1960 in New York City, New York, and is the son of Jewish writer Amram Ducovny (different spelling than that of David's last name) and Scottish-American teacher Margaret. He was educated in The Collegiate School for Boys in Manhattan, Princeton University and Yale University. His appearances on television started with an advertisement for Löwenbräu beer in 1987. He then was cast for a role as a transvestite DEA agent on the series Twin Peaks. In 1993, he was cast for a role in the sci-fi series The X-Files. He was part of the series from 1993 to 2000. In the later years of the show, he only did a brief cameo in the ninth season. He then appeared in other television series, such as Life with Bonnie and Sex and the City, and the lead in Californication. Duchovny is married to Tea Leoni, with whom he has two children with. He resides with his family in Malibu, California.

Special Agent Fox William Mulder is played by David Duchovny on the sci-fi television series The X-Files. Filled with the passion of finding his lost sister, Mulder entered Oxford University to study psychology. Mulder entered the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia where he later joined the FBI. He landed a career as a special agent soon after. Having a keen interest with government conspiracies and uncovering them, he worked with such passion that it rubbed off in a negative way, at times investigating to the point of breaking the law.
