Most reality competition shows nowadays come with a big cash reward at the end, but those numbers always seem to reside smack-dab in the gray area between "so much money that people will do anything for it" and "not enough money that the winner will get to swim in a pool of gold coins like Scrooge McDuck."
So one of the reasons I'm loving
The X Factor so far is the insane, unprecedented amount of money on the line for the to-be-determined winner.
Fiiiiive miiiiiillion doooollars! Sure, that sweet five mil is tied to a "recording contract," but no matter how you slice up that pie, there's gonna be a lot of leftover dough. (I wonder if they've already looked into a follow-up series to document all the preposterous ways that the winner will spend his/her millions. Sort of like
Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy X-Factory?)
But back to the point: there can only be one winner, which means this new video from
The X Factor, "$5 Million Dollar Fantasy," is aptly named. For 99.9999% of the auditioners we'll see in the next few weeks, the final prize is just a fantasy. But for one, it will eventually be a reality. Thanks to the unreality of reality TV.
See what these hopeful X Factor performers would do with all that cash, and then tell us in the comments: What's the first thing you would do with $5 million dollars?I'm with that "bubble bath studio" guy. Practical!
