The 'X' Files: Really, America? Death Threats Over an 'X Factor' Elimination?

Well, this is troubling. Even though Drew Ryniewicz accepted her X Factor elimination gracefully, some of her fans haven't been so kind. After voting to send home the 15-year-old crooner just shy of the Top 5, judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul received angry messages and death threats from Drew Ryniewicz fans on Twitter and Facebook.

It sounds like the passionately furious fans are just lashing out rather than threatening real harm on the judges, but still. That's taking things a little too far -- and a little too personally, since every contestant but one on The X Factor is going to lose. That's just how it works. If the contestants can accept that, shouldn't their fans be able to, also? (Yes. They should.)

On to the bigger, better and brighter X Factor news of the week:

This Week on The X Factor...
We're down to the Top 5, and you know what that means: It's time to double down. On Wednesday's performance episode, Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro, Rachel Crow, Chris Rene and Marcus Canty will each perform two songs. Then, on Thursday's results show, one performer will get eliminated (See, irrational Drew fans? It happens every week!), and Mary J. Blige and Lenny Kravitz will attempt to distract us from the terrible turmoil of watching another $5 million dream get crushed.

Nicole Scherzinger Will Perform Later This Season
At some point before the end of this season of The X Factor, Nicole Scherzinger will take off her mentor cap and put on her performer hot-pants to promote the US release of her album, "Killer Love," with a song. Which song? I don't know. Nicole doesn't even know. And besides, the real question is: Do you think Simon will pull a Michael Buble on her?

Who's your favorite of the X Factor Top 5? Vote below! But keep it civil, kids.
