Emmy winning actress Kathryn Joosten died today after battling lung cancer. She was 72.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Joosten may be best known as Karen McCluskey, the nosy, gruff neighbor on ABC's Desperate Housewives. The role earned her three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, and she won twice.

Sadly, in the recent Desperate Housewives series finale, her character died from cancer.

While that may be her biggest role, Joosten has had a number of memorable guest spots. She was in a memorable early episode of Scrubs and she played one of the versions of God on Joan of Arcadia.

However, I will always remember her as Dolores Landingham, President Bartlet's secretary on The West Wing. Sadly, her character was killed off in the season 2 finale.

If you'd like to see Kathryn Joosten's acting at its very best, check out The West Wing's first season Christmas episode, "In Excelsis Deo." Mrs. Landingham has a speech about her two sons who died, and it will bring you to tears.

Kathryn Joosten will be sorely missed and the TV world will not be the same without her.
