Going into episode 12 of The Vampire Diaries
, the most important thing to know, however, is the big revelation about Elena's identity. It turns out she's adopted--- which would explain how she can be related to Katherine. And as mentioned in our spoiler section
, tonight's episode "will make it very clear to viewers that the mystery of Elena's adoption will be an important part of this season - and that there will be answers."

) whose character Ben, a former high school football-star, comes to Bonnie's rescue when he notices Damon pestering her.
