If you're disappointed that The Vampire Diaries is over and The Originals is entering its final season, the CW might have a solution. The network is developing a reboot of the WB/UPN sci-fi drama Roswell as a potential new series for the 2018-2019 TV season, and the cast includes plenty of recognizable CW stars as well as one of the stars of Pretty Little Liars.

Michael Trevino, best known s Tyler Lockwood on The Vampire Diaries, and Nathan Parsons, who played werewolf Jackson Kenner on The Originals, have both joined the pilot for the reboot of Roswell.

The CW Sets Premiere Date for The Originals Final Season>>>

The new version is written by The Originals' Carina Adly MacKenzie and the pilot will be directed by Julie Plec, co-creator of The Vampire Diaries. Roswell will center on a woman whose parents are undocumented immigrants returning to her hometown to discover that Max, the guy she had a crush on in high school, is now a police officer...and an alien.

Parsons will play the lead role of Max, played by Jason Behr in the original series. In addition to The Originals, Parsons has also appeared in True Blood and Once Upon a Time. Liz, the female lead, is Jeanine Mason, who won the fifth season of So You Think You Can Dance.

The CW Orders Pilot for Charmed Reboot>>>

Max's siblings and fellow aliens, Isobel and Michael, will be played by Lily Cowles and Michael Vlamis. Trevino will play Kyle, the son of the town sheriff. Heather Hemmens will play Liz's former best friend, Maria.

Rounding out the cast is Pretty Little Liars alum Tyler Blackburn, taking on the role of Alex, a former sergeant in the military who returns home. In the original TV show, the role was played by Colin Hanks.

Before you get too excited, remember that this is only a pilot and the CW has yet to make any decisions about whether it will move forward. But given the talent involved, both in front of and behind the camera and the fact that the CW is expanding to six nights per week, it seems like a solid bet.
