'The Unit' Star Talks About the Upcoming Season
Recently, we reported on the events to come in the anticipated new season of The Unit, which returns to television screens tonight at 10pm.  On the show’s third season, we saw Jonas in the middle of an investigation involving the link between a Russian uranium dealer and his old friend at MI5.  The show’s third season spanned 11 episodes due to the writers’ strike, but this time, they’re ready to come back with new episodes that would pick up where we left off last season.

The Unit star Scott Foley recently talked to IGN, sharing his thoughts about the new season and how he has adapted to the show, given his drama series roots.

"The team has been out of the country on a mission for five or six months," Foley recounts.  "And during that time, the military and the secret service has been infiltrated.  And we come back, and because we've been out of the country, we're one of the only teams above suspicion."

He adds that the addition of Nicole Steinwedell will have direct impact on the story, as he revealed, "We're assigned to go find the new President Elect.  There's a new female member of The Unit, who will be around for a couple episodes – at least.  There's going to be more focus on the group, the men and the women as a whole; instead of separate storylines."

The changes are also happening behind the scenes, as the mostly male-dominated show is now welcoming Steinwedell to the group.  The 36-year-old actor, who appeared on series such as Dawson’s Creek, Felicity and Scrubs, says that there was a slight change in the camaraderie of the group once they welcomed her in.

"It's hard.  I was going to say it's hard for her, but I think it's just as hard for us.  After 50-some odd episodes, we have a bond and a language of our own," he admits.  "And for someone to come into that and have to be a part of that, immediately, is hard for us.  We're wary of it, on set."

Nonetheless he is appreciative of the new recruit, saying, "I think she's going to be great, I'm looking forward to watching her character develop and watching what happens with her and how we become one team."

Catch The Unit as it returns tonight at 10pm.
