Robert Iler was born in New York City on March 2, 1985. His real life is quite similar to his character in The Sopranos. He already had a brush with the law, having been arrested for robbing Brazilian tourists when he was 16, and was sentenced to three years juvenile probation. His troubled past aside, Robert was also recognized for his acting talent, having won several awards for his role in the show.
