After her now notorious altercation with fellow Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel, model turned infamous reality star Kelly Bensimon is being sued by a former colleague for allegedly stealing an idea for a jewelry line, reports the New York Post. This isn't the only legal trouble for the leggy 40-year-old, as she also faces raps for allegedly beating up a former boyfriend, who is a decade younger.
During her stint as editor-in-chief of the now defunct Elle Accessories Magazine, Bensimon reportedly struck a deal with associate-turned-complainant Celeste Greenberg, for the former to wear the huge owl pendant Bensimon often wears on photo shoots and appearances.
"Greenberg allegedly went to Bensimon and struck up a verbal agreement in which the duo would design and manufacture a replica of the owl and split the profits," tells a source.
Greenberg laments that Bensimon cut her out and manufactured the idea on her own. Another source adds that "Kelly has been hawking the owl on her Bravo show, on the talk-show circuit, and in a bunch of magazines."
A rep for Bensimon claims the accusations are all fabricated, that it is riding on the newfound popularity of the Real Housewives of New York City
"This girl used to work at Elle Accessories with Kelly. Kelly went out of her way to book her for freelance gigs. They went their separate ways. Now she's coming after her because she needs money and Kelly's name is in the press. There's no validity to this. They never had an agreement about anything."
The season finale of The Real Housewives of New York City
airs Tuesday May 5 at 10pm ET/PT on Bravo.
