Last season was Real Housewives of New Jersey's
first season sans resident cray-cray Danielle Staub, but the ladies from the shore didn't let that hold them back from bringing the drama.
Two new cast members were added to the ensemble: Teresa Giudice's sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, and her cousin Kathy Wakile. The season started off with a bang when there was an emotional brawl at the Christening for Melissa and her husband Joe's (Teresa's brother) son. Teresa rounded up her allies Jacqueline Laurita and Caroline Manzo in an all-out war against her family. But soon after Jacqueline and Caroline got to know Melissa and Kathy better, they started to come to the conclusion that Teresa is truly the wacky one (who would have guessed?!). Fasten Your Seatbelts: RHONJ is BACK!
Individually, the women continued to deal with their own highs and lows beyond the Giudice-Gorga drama.
Caroline dealt with her kids moving out of the house but instead of becoming a depressed empty-nester, she started her "Caroline Rules" radio segment where she offered family and life advice. Melissa worked on releasing her single "On Display" while raising three young kids. Kathy dabbled in starting her own catering business and Jacqueline continued to struggle with her apathetic teenage daughter Ashlee. Meanwhile, Teresa wrote a second cookbook (with all different kinds of ingredients!) that also included insulting remarks about all of her friends and family. All of the New Jersey ladies from last season are indeed returning for season four. And filming began before the reunion from season three even wrapped, so we'll be picking up pretty much where we left off. Judging by Jacqueline's conspicuous absence from the reunion, her Twitter feud with Teresa
and public lambasting by Caroline
, it's safe to assume that we're about to see Jacqueline and Caroline's relationship with Teresa crumble.
It also seems unlikely that Teresa's relationship with her family will improve. She said that there were "a lot of hurtful and shocking moments"
for her this season. It is also well known that she and her husband, Joe Giudice, have been facing their fair share of legal battles
On a more positive note, Melissa will continue to develop herself as a pop star
and Kathy will start her own dessert line. Who Are RHONJ's Biggest Trouble Makers?
But don't worry! It's not all going to be drama, drama, drama! As the preview proves, there's always time for a little booze and fist-pumping in the Garden State. Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 4 premieres Sunday, April 22. Gina PusateriContributing Writer
