It's been a big couple of days for Bravo with the premiere of both The Real Housewives of Atlanta as well as The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. But like everything Real Housewives, even something as simple as the first episode of the season can be turned into a competition. Let's evaluate and determine who the winner was in the battle of the premieres.

Cat Fights

While NeNe Leakes had a few digs at her co-star Kim Zolciak in her confessional, most of the cast members of the RHOA are getting along cordially. Though we do sense something stirring among the models of the group, Cynthia Bailey and Kenya Moore. Not to mention, Kim really seemed to ruffle Kandi Burruss' feathers about the unfinished state of her new house. Developing...

RHOBH wasted no time picking up old feuds right back where they left them. Lisa Vanderpump didn't invite Adrienne Maloof to her Villa Blanca party because she still felt salty about Adrienne's behavior at the reunion, and Kim Richards and Taylor Armstrong still pretty much despise Brandi.

Advantage: RHOBH.

New Wives

Both of the shows can really boast some stunning new wives. Kenya Moore is a former Miss USA and Yolanda Hadid is a Scandinavian-featured beauty. But only Kenya was able to immediately stand out by coining her own catchphrase (I guess that's what you would call it): "coochie crack." Good luck topping that, Yolanda.

Advantage: RHOA and Kenya "coochie crack" Moore.


Events

Everybody knows that it isn't a Real Housewives show without a knockout event. Unfortunately, the first episode of RHOA failed to put all of the ladies in the cast in the same room at the same time! How do they expect weave-pulling and classic NeNe trash-talks to happen if we can't even get them all together for a charity event or one of Peter Thomas' nightclub openings?

RHOBH, on the other hand, started with a bang in this department with a party at Villa Blanca where there were half-naked angels serving cocktails and Giggy dressed in a three-piece suit. All of the ladies except the uninvited Adrienne were there, and leaving someone out is an added bonus to the drama. The only problem here was that Kyle didn't do the splits. Sad face.

Advantage: RHOBH


Overall, I'd have to give the gold medal to RHOBH for the season premiere event. While RHOA has a lot of drama in the making, there seemed to be a lot of scenes that were so set-up, it was almost distracting, and most of them existed merely to get reacquainted with the characters. The flow of the first episode of RHOBH, however, was much smoother and in general more engaging.
