Lara Flynn Boyle is an Emmy Award-nominated American television and movie actress born on March 24, 1970 in Davenport, Iowa. She is of both Italian and Irish descent, and she grew up in different locations such as Wisconsin, Illinois and Chicago. She has also suffered from dyslexia previously. She has dated a number of different actors, among them Richard Dean Anderson, Jack Nicholson, and David Spade. She has been married twice, since she divorced her first husband. Her feature film credits include roles in
The Dead Poets Society,
Men In Black II, and
Wayne's World. She has also worked on television series such as
Twin Peaks,
Ally McBeal, and
Las Vegas.
Helen Gamble is portrayed by Lara Flynn Boyle in the Emmy Award-winning legal drama series
The Practice. She is an assistant district attorney who often handles and prosecutes cases that the firm finds itself involved with. While she is personally close to many of the firm's partners as a trusted friend, she is also dedicated in her occupation and persistent in prosecuting wrongdoers, even to the point of testing the boundaries of legal ethics. She is also a roommate to Ellenor and Lindsay.
