American actress Lauren Lane was born on February 2, 1961 in Oklahoma City. She grew up in Texas and went on to earn a Master’s degree from San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theatre. Lauren Lane has worked on several theater productions such as Burn This, The Imaginary Invalid, Uncle Vanya, Dinner With Friends, and No End of Blame. She was also a member of The Actors’ Gang, an experimental theater company headed by Tim Robbins. Among the television series she’s worked on are Hunter, L.A. Law, and Partners. She is currently a professor at the Texas State University’s theater department in San Marcos, Texas.
Chastity Claire “C.C.” Babcock is portrayed by Lauren Lane in the television comedy series The Nanny. Maxwell’s longtime business partner who has an intense crush on him, she keeps trying to move in with his family despite Maxwell’s sorrow for his late wife. Her flirtations are largely selfish, as she often gets the children’s names wrong and makes no effort to get along with Niles, who despises her. C.C. is obsessed money and social status, though it’s also hinted that she’s lonely and unhappy because of things such as her parents divorcing and her own insecurity with her attractiveness. She’s a hostile rival towards Fran for a long time, though later on C.C. ends up unexpectedly with Niles.
