Are we on the verge of seeing that smile again?
This season of
The Mentalist has forced Jane to endure a disconnect with the Red John case--and of course, it's an uncomfortable thing, especially if you have a very personal stake in the serial killer you're pursuing. They've had some luck before, but thanks to his tendencies and other past events, the case was passed on to Bosco.
But the Jane-prescribed way of "enduring" the disconnect is to connect, and connect, and connect some more. He tried talking to Bosco, he tried cozying up to him, and he even tried to put a bug in his office--well, he was successful in putting the bug, but Bosco was successful in bringing him to jail for that. He's lucky that Bosco's past with Lisbon has acted as some sort of leverage, else Jane would've had his ass kicked.
Tonight, then, is possibly Red John's turn to kick someone's ass.
And right in their home turf. The CBI headquarters in Sacramento will become the place for a violent and shocking crime, putting someone on the line--Bosco, Jane, another person, who? That said, they still have a crime to investigate, and they have to bring someone to justice, however hard it may be. Never mind that Van Pelt and Rigsby take one more step in their relationship--you must've seen them in the sheets.
The Mentalist returns tonight from 10pm on CBS. For more of Lisbon's what-the-heck? face, see the photos below.
