It seems that viewers will have to endure more episodes of
The Hills, the series that gave the world
Lauren Conrad,
Audrina Patridge,
Heidi Montag and
Whitney Port. The
Laguna Beach spin-off that documents the lives of Conrad and her friends in Los Angeles after her move from Laguna Beach, California will return for a fifth season despite rumors that the show would soon come to an end.
Patridge confirmed the news to
People just as filming of the fourth season of
The Hills is about to wrap up in a few weeks.
“There is going to be a fifth season- we just found out,” Patridge told
People, adding that she and her costars have a good time working on the show despite all the drama. “We have fun with each other and we've stuck it out this long, so we might as well do another one.”
On the other hand, Patridge explains that returning for a fifth season isn't at all that easy. Aside from the fact that all the stars are trying to launch their respective careers, rumors about Conrad and Patridge having a big falling out due to Conrad allegedly having an affair with her mate's on-off boyfriend Justin Bobby have made things complicated.
“At one point, all of us were like, ‘No, we don't want to do another season.' I wanted to do more movies, and Whitney moved to New York and she's doing her own spin-off. And Lauren's dating Kyle [Howard] but he can't be on the show because he's on another show, so that makes it hard.”
“It was really hard — one of his best friends that told me that, and I called Lauren and she hangs up on me,” the
Hills star added. “And then once I sat them down and talked to them, I was like, ‘Okay, this is all I needed!' You'll see it on the show. It was very emotional.”
